Lysanius - Like 3:1  Inscription found to verify this.
Gallio - Acts 18:12-17.  Inscription from Emperor Claudius found.
Politarchs - an obscure title.  20 inscriptions have been found bearing the term politarch.

When we read history books, often we simply take for granted that the writer was either an eyewitness to the events or had diligently searched out those who were.  The events, being faithfully recorded, serve as a reference for us who come afterwards.

Luke, the beloved physician, was one of the most notable historians of his era.  In the opening verses of Luke’s Gospel he assures us of the accuracy of his record this way: (Many have und.....

One of the few events of Jesus’s life told in all four Gospels.  

Jesus knew His hour was almost come when He was to die and He had told His disciples ahead of time of this fact (see Mark 10:32-34).  To some, it did not fit with their thoughts of Jesus as the great liberator of the Nation from the tyranny of Rome.

Many had seen His great miracles, heard His teachings.....
